The 80th Church of God General Assembly is in session this week at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
With thirteen of the eighteen 2024-2026 members of the Council of Eighteen ineligible for election due to tenure limitations, the Council was almost completely new. In addition, ten of those elected had never previously served on the Council.
Kevin Miles McGlamery, pastor, North Cleveland Church of God, in Cleveland, TN, was first to be elected, returning for a second two-year term and by virtue of being elected first, will serve as chairman of the body. Toby Stephen Morgan, Administrative Bishop in South Carolina was also returned. Both were elected in the first round of voting on Tuesday.

Hill, Administrative Bishop, Tennessee; *Rob Bailey, Administrative Bishop, Texas; *Miguel Angel Perdomo, superintendent for Central America (El Salvador); Barry Anthony Clardy, Administrative Bishop, Indiana; *Jerry Jonathan Jeter, pastor, RiverLife Church of God, Bradenton, FL; *Philip M. Bonaparte, pastor, New Hope Church of God, Waretown, NJ; *Jamie Brandon Barfield, pastor, Palmetto Point Church of God, Myrtle Beach, SC; *James Clinton (J.C.) The Council of Eighteen joins with the Executive Committee to form the International executive Council. The 23 members are also joined by representatives from Indonesia and South Africa, forming a group of 25 leaders who will lead the Church of God for the next General Assembly period. The new Executive Council will meet for the first time this September at the International Offices in Cleveland.
