A Church of God pastor in Portland, Maine tells of a miraculous series of events which allowed his church to recover stolen items.
The account came via e-mail from Pastor Frank Siciliano:
The story that I am about to tell you is absolutely amazing. When our church secretary Penny got to church this morning, the door was unlocked and when she went in she discovered that we had been robbed. The Peavey 16 channel mixing board was missing, the bass guitar and the bass amp were missing. The robber found the very large safe
downstairs and beat on that trying in vain to get inside.
The police were called and I made a few calls. I called Jason and Joy and he called me back and asked if they could call a few pawn shops. In their search they ended up calling The Guitar Grave store and they described what had been stolen.
At about 5:30 this afternoon, the store called back and said that a man was there with a 16 channel board that fit our description. The guitar people stalled the guy, called the police and the police came. I went to the store and
identified the mixer that it was indeed ours. Then I asked them if they had seen the guitar and amp. Sure enough, the robber had brought those items into the shop at 10 AM. So….. we have recovered everything that was stolen and the robber has been charged with possession of stolen items. If the police can prove that he was in the church they will charge him with felony robbery.
What an amazing turn of events, all to the glory of God. I have always said if you are going to rob someone, the last person that you want to rob is GOD!!
This afternoon I was praying for the person that robbed the church. I said God I pray for this person, let them have an old fashioned jail house conversion. I guess he will have that opportunity.
