POLAND — National Bishop Wojtek Wloch shares, “Our goal as the Church of God in Poland is to become not just another registered church, but a strong church planting movement reaching the lost throughout the country.”
Just seven years ago, the Church of God had no registered churches in Poland. Today there are 11 churches, and our national movement is continually planting new churches.
Last summer, a new church was planted in Nova Huta, an impoverished suburb of Krakow. The Church of God in Ruda Slaska recently planted a new congregation in the nearby city of Zabrze.
National Bishop Wojtek Wloch shares, “Our goal as the Church of God in Poland is to become not just another registered church, but a strong church planting movement reaching the lost throughout the country.” The need is great; there are more Evangelical believers per capita in Saudi Arabia than in Poland.
The establishment of the Church of God in Poland began in 2003 when a handful of independent churches joined us. Though slowed by a lengthy governmental process, the name of the national movement was officially changed to “Church of God in Poland” in March 2009. Shortly thereafter, the Church of God in Poland was accepted as a full member of the Evangelical Alliance in Poland.
Bishop Wloch has started a constitutional initiative, appealing to the Polish government for stronger recognition and rights of non-Catholic churches. Many independent churches have now added their support and expressed an interest in the Church of God. Please join with your Polish brothers and sisters in praying specifically for this initiative.
The foundation is solid, momentum is building, and the future holds a great harvest for our faithful pastors in Poland.
