New Web Site for ‘Changing Times’ Launched
A new Web site has been launched which will resource pastors, church leaders and laity in the months to come as the Church of God pursues a theme of “Forward Together in Changing Times.”
The Web site www.forwardtogetherinchangingtimes.com was launched earlier this month. During his Commissioning address on August 9, 2008 in San Antonio, newly-elected Church of God General Overseer Culpepper outlined his vision and theme for the next two years. In his address Culpepper emphasized his desire for three primary emphases over the upcoming Assembly period: 1) Prayer, 2) the Great Commission and 3) A Quest for Trust. This Web site will address each of these emphases at any given time as resources, news and updates become available.
Currently on the site the primary focus is on the first emphasis, prayer. Several interactive features are on the site, including introductory pages of a book on Prayer, authored by Doug Small which will be the recommended resource during the prayer emphasis period. Also available are links to the Mission Statement on prayer, endorsements, a promotional video and ways to order resources for the prayer emphasis.
“I hope pastors and leaders will find this web link helpful as we pursue the mandate of prayer, great commission and trust,” Culpepper stated. “This link will be changing as the needs of the Church of God are resourced and we identify ways to most effectively promote these items in our local churches and with each other. The first and most important is prayer; it is our mission, it is our ministry. As we pray, we will prevail.”
