Group Meets to Plan for Empowered21 Europe
Hamburg, Germany–A prominent group of European Christian leaders has formed an Empowered21 Europe cabinet and they have announced their preliminary focus. Empowered21 Europe, a unique, history-making movement, will assist in focusing select Spirit-filled, Christian leaders, next gen voices and leading scholars from across Europe on the future of Spirit-empowered Christianity.
The Empowered21 Europe cabinet met in Hamburg, Germany on March 23-24, 2011 to consult and shape Empowered21 strategies for Europe. An update on E21 global efforts was presented along with discussion on E21 Europe vision and purposes and discussion of the Spirit-empowered Church
in Europe today with questions such as: what are the greatest positive developments, what are the greatest challenges at present and what are the most crucial issues in the European Movement? Billy Wilson, Executive Director of the International Center for Spiritual Renewal and
Empowered21 and Co- Chair of the E21 Global Council, said, “Every continent is now developing an Empowered21 regional cabinet to form strategies for their area of the world. Empowered21 cabinets in Asia, Latin America, Africa, the USA, USA Hispanic, and Canada are already formed.
“We are excited to bring together such an outstanding group of leaders for the Empowered21 Europe effort. This group will help bring unity between Pentecostals and Charismatic’s for the future of Spirit-empowered Christianity across Europe.”
Dr. Ulf Ekman, Founder and Pastor of Word of Life Church in Sweden and Co-Chair of Empowered21 Europe, said, “We had a very good and productive meeting here in Hamburg! We were here to launch an initiative that will have significant impact on the Pentecostal and Charismatic
churches all across Europe. I believe that Empowered21 is going to greatly contribute to revival throughout Europe.”
Anne Christiansen, Founder and Pastor of Jesus Church and Founder and Executive Director of Jesus Revolution in Norway, said, “This is a time when we must join our efforts for the Spirit-filled community. Leaders coming together like we did this week, is vital for the future of our movement
and the next generation; simply being able to see leaders together is not only powerful, but also extremely important for the next generation to see us modeling.”
Some of the purposes of Empowered21 Europe will be to unite the Spirit-filled movement across Europe in intergenerational gatherings for the purpose of seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the 21st Century. They also desire to provide a platform for addressing the crucial issues
facing the Spirit-empowered church in Europe in the 21st Century and discover contemporary methods, vocabulary and ministry grace needed for engaging new generations in Spirit-empowered living. They will assist to focus the energy and resources of the Spirit-empowered European
church, on the harvest and challenges before them with a desire to witness greater convergence and collaboration of Spirit-empowered ministries across Europe.
Ingolf Ellssel, President of the Pentecostal European Fellowship, said “E21 is the first initiative in Europe to build a platform between key leaders from Charismatic’s and Pentecostals. They want to end a strong message to the younger Generation to renew and take care for the spiritual heritage.”
“We want to encourage every Spirit-filled ministry across Europe to connect with Empowered21 Europe in the days ahead. Together we can realize a future that includes renewal, transformation and empowerment for new generations in Europe. God is not finished with Europe and we are
expecting a fresh grace of renewal here in the days ahead.,” Wilson concluded.
Empowered21 Europe announced plans for an Empowered21 European Summit for Charismatic and Pentecostal leaders from each European nation that will take place in Hamburg November 1-2, 2011.
Empowered21 Europe is one of 11 global initiatives taking place during this decade that will involve the Spirit-filled movement in focusing on the future and engaging new generations in the power of the Holy Spirit.
