International Cooperating Ministries Celebrates 25 Years
International Cooperating Ministries (ICM), a nonprofit whose mission is to nurture believers and assist Church growth worldwide, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Leighton Ford, President of Leighton Ford Ministries and Honorary Lifetime Chair of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, endorses the ministry’s mission: “Twenty-five years ago, at a meeting of global leaders in Germany, God planted in the heart of a layman, a businessman and servant of Christ, the vision of North American Christians partnering with Third World believers to plant new churches to reach the unreached. The result is evident in the thousands of churches planted and built to reach so many in the global south.”
Several fundraising events across the country are taking place to mark the 25th anniversary of the ministry, culminating in a gala celebration in Newport News, Va., this fall.
Two of these events recently took place in Tampa, hosted by Dr. James Gills of St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute and his wife, Mrs. Heather Gills. Through a golf tournament and a ladies luncheon at the Avila Country Club, money was raised to fund new church projects in Vietnam and church orphanages in Africa. Keynote speaker at the luncheon was New York Times #1 bestselling author Ellen Vaughn, author of “Time Peace: Living Here and Now with a Timeless God,” “It’s All About Him: Finding the Love of My Life,” written with Denise Jackson, and “The God Who Hung on the Cross,” written with Dois Rosser.
ICM, a Hampton-based ministry founded by businessman Dois Rosser, has more than 3,800 churches built or under construction in 58 countries and uses the Mini Bible College, written by Pastor Dick Woodward, as its curriculum to nurture new believers. This comprehensive Bible survey is available in 26 languages to a potential audience of 4 billion people through radio, Internet, audio players and printed study materials. More than 28,000 small groups around the world use the Mini Bible College.
International Cooperating Ministries is a ministry of the Rosser Foundation, a public charity tax-exempt 501(c)(3), and is located at 606 Aberdeen Road in Hampton, Va.
