We have had so many to respond with medical advice about the situation of Win Min Htwe and his severely damaged leg. We weighed all of the recommendations carefully, and then presented the matter to Win. He has elected to go with the amputation option to get this dealt with immediately so he can begin his recuperation and rebuilding process. He is also relieved at the thought of moving beyond the daily pain of his crutches on his palm and his armpit.
Win is so grateful to all of you for the concern and for enabling him to get rid of his crutches, and move to self-reliance for his family’s sake.
His surgery is going to be in Burma at the best hospital we can find. His doctor is an orthopedic surgeon trained in Scotland. The amputation happens on July 21. Please pray for him on that day.
After the surgery, we will begin the longer challenge of getting him well and fitted with a high quality prosthetic. He will need a month’s rest in a clean place. He lives in a garbage dump area, so we have to get him out of there until he is healed and we can raise the needed money to build the orphanage for him and his brothers. He and his new wife will live there, as well, and probably have work connected to the orphanage. We will keep you informed. Thanks for all the prayers and for being our partners in helping Win into a radically higher quality of life.
