People for Care and Learning (PCL), the Cleveland, Tennessee-based nonprofit organization that works to alleviate poverty from Southeast Tennessee to Southeast Asia, received news this week that it has earned Charity Navigator’s 4-Star rating, the highest distinction offered by the national charity evaluation company.
SEVIERVILLE, TN– The Church of God Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has received another new van from Campbell’s Soup program, “Labels for Education.” With the help of individuals, businesses, and church groups, SMCH has collected, processed and sent in 1,600,000 Campbell’s Soup labels in order to receive the vehicle. The new Dodge van, along with other vans on campus, makes it possible for house parents to transport residents to needed appointments and events.
A Church of God Hispanic congregation in New York state was destroyed by fire last month as the church was celebrating Pastor Appreciation Day.
In its December board meeting, the Church of God USA Missions Board reaffirmed the 3G Outreach Initiative to continue through the year 2016. The twelve-month calendar year program focuses on the Three Great Statements of Jesus: The Great Commitment (Prayer), the Great Commandment (Care), and the Great Commission (Share). It is a month-by-month list of suggestions for the implementation of each of these 3Gs by the local pastor and congregation.
