General Overseer Expounds on Assembly Theme

Last November, Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams announced the theme for the 2014 International General Assembly, which will be held next summer, July 29 – August 1, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. He recently recorded a video expounding the background of the nontraditional single word theme, “ONE.”

Lee University Administrator Presents Before Senate Panel

March 29, 2014–Washington, D.C.–An administrator from Lee University took part in a Senate hearing in Washington on Thursday to discuss growing student-loan debt, making the federal student-loan programs easier for borrowers to navigate, and increasing college access for lower-income students.

Orphans at Guatemala Home Raise Funds for Needy Families

To orphans in Guatemala, $1,068 is an unimaginable amount of money. Yet, the children of the Casa Shalom Church of God orphanage banded together and in three months raised that sum to build a home for a needy family in Cambodia. It is part of the People for Care and Learning Build a City project.

Operation Compassion Partners to Feed Distressed Children

During the past 3 months, Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, has partnered with several worldwide agencies to deliver more than 1,980,000 meals to children. Places like Tonga, South Africa where a widow is caring for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. She has taken care of thousands of children over the years; some have died but others have survived to live and help others; or in the Philippines where approximately 5,000 children each day are fed on the streets, at school and feeding centers.
