Indianapolis, IN–Gary J. Lewis was officially elected the new General Overseer for the Church of God following a unanimous voice vote from the General Assembly of the Church of God on Friday afternoon, July 12, 2024. He was formally installed that evening during a closing commissioning service.
One of the most anticipated actions during the Church of God General Assembly is the release of the official list of elections and appointments made during the biennial gathering. A physical document is released following the final closing service on Friday night of the Assembly and is also available for viewing online at the Church of God website.
Indianapolis, IN–Three new members were added to the Council of Eighteen of the Church of God on Wednesday during elections conducted by the General Council. The group of ordained bishops will serve with the five members of the Executive Committee to comprise the International Executive Council.
Indianapolis, IN–By an overwhelming majority, the International General Council passed a motion to restore the office of Ministry of Evangelism and two elected leaders, bringing the ministries of U.S. home missions, church planting, and church health and revitalization under one departmental umbrella Wednesday at the 79th Church of God International General Assembly.
