Coalition Urges President Obama ‘Fill Vacant Special Envoy Post’
More than 50 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), scholars, religious leaders, and human rights advocates sent a letter urging President Obama to swiftly fill the vacant post of Special Envoy for Religious Minorities in the Middle East and South Central Asia. Despite the President signing a law in August 2014 creating this position, he has yet to appoint the Special Envoy.

North Dakota School District Discriminates Against Pro-Life Clubs
Fargo School District No. 1 is under fire for unconstitutional discrimination against pro-life students at two high schools. Superintendent Jeff Schatz has received a demand letter from the Thomas More Society, a Chicago-based public interest law firm, on behalf of students Brigid O’Keefe of Fargo North High School, Katie McPherson of Davies High School, and Students for Life of America. The letter charges that the district has violated the First Amendment rights of pro-life students at the schools by denying them permission to form high school pro-life clubs.
Kansas First State to Ban ‘Dismemberment Abortions’
Kansas became the first state to ban a common second trimester abortion procedure when Governor Sam Brownback, a Republican, on Tuesday signed into a law an act to halt what lawmakers said are “dismemberment abortions.”
