The phrase “In God We Trust” has caused controversy over the years as the national motto. But on Tuesday, the U.S. Representatives passed, 396-9, a concurrent resolution reaffirming its status.

IDER, Alabama — Having spent much time in prayer about the many obstacles that the Ider Church of God faces in its work of ministry, not the least of which includes a need for more dedicated ministry space, I went to the Alabama State Campmeeting seeking an answer from God. I felt impressed that if I went expecting Him to speak to me through this week of ministry, I would return with the answers that I needed. He did not disappoint me.

November 1, 2011– The family of Dr. Walter P. Atkinson, former member of the Church of God Executive Committee, announced his passing late this morning at a Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital surrounded by his family. He was 77.

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, announced that the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 on, a resolution sponsored by Forbes to reaffirm ‘In God We Trust’ as the United States’ national motto and to encourage its display in public buildings and government institutions.
