Lee University Offers 16 Summer Camps
Cleveland, TN–Lee University is offering a slate of 16 camps in various areas of emphasis for students of all ages this summer.
For over 25 years, Lee University has sponsored a one-of-a-kind college experience for academically talented high school juniors and seniors. This two-week
program called Summer Honors is an authentic encounter that prepares students to face the academic and social challenges of college life. Students also receive a head
start on their college career by earning six hours of academic credit. While outside of the classroom, students will experience a wide variety of social activities
they can expect to find at Lee. For the 120 or so students selected to participate, Summer Honors is two weeks to learn, grow, laugh, and connect.
Also on tap are several athletic camps at various age and skill levels. One of the veteran offerings is the Kay McDaniel Tennis Clinic. The former professional tennis star turned Lee University coach and professor, offers the week-long tennis camps free to aspiring tennis players.
Other athletic emphasis camps include basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf.
The Lee University Music Camp is a week-long residential experience and includes four tracks of participation: Music Lovers, College Prep, Jazz, and Worship Leader. In each of these tracks, the campers participate in an ensemble, as well as study music theory and history and private or specialized study in desired performance area. Members of the Lee University faculty and visiting professionals serve as faculty for the camp.
The Lee University Computer Camp features Mobile Apps for Android Camp; learn how to create, design, deploy, and use mobile apps for android devices and the Game Programming Camp; learn how to create, design, share and play electronic games.
The Spanish camp is designed to introduce students to Spanish language and culture in a fun, low-pressure environment. Classes and activities will be led by Lee Spanish majors/minors. Camp participants will be grouped by age and prior Spanish Learning.
Lee University is proud to announce the 4th annual Camp Spectrum: a day camp for individuals with autism. There will be activities on the Lee University
campus in addition to swimming at the YMCA and therapeutic horseback riding.
Dr. Jason Robinson brings excitement to the classroom for the Rocket City Camp. Including family science night, professional development events and Super Science Saturdays
will continue to impact students this summer with Rocket City Science. This camp is sure to excite young minds and spark creativity and imagination.
At the Art Camp, students will enjoy a one week art experience with professional art instructors that combines artistic content and information with related studio projects.
At the Lee University Theater Camp, students will be able to choose one of two tracks. Elementary Theatre gives elementary students a great first taste of theatre with this active and engaging opportunity to gain self-confidence, poise and some great memories. Theatre camps are taught by trained Lee University students and supervised by Lee Theatre faculty. Registration includes a tshirt and snacks. The camp will culminate in a performance by the students.
