Online, Social Media Accessibility at GA2012

Heading into the 74th Church of God International General Assembly next week in Orlando, Church of God Communications announces upgraded sites and a new “app” to keep up with the latest news and information.

The biennial General Assembly, or GA2012, begins July 24 at the Orange County Convention Center and concludes July 27. Over the weekend, tweaks are being made to an upgraded version of Faith News (www.faithnews.cc), the official news source for the Church of God. The site will sport a completely new look and we be launched with all the latest news of GA2012.

Also, on the Church of God website (www.churchofgod.org), a web link for GA2012 which was unveiled last January will be completely redone to reflect the week of the Assembly. Once the event is complete, the site will remain active for several months and include all final information, such as elections and appointments, resolutions, on-site videos, and news items posted during the week.

Social media will be active during GA2012 as information and comments will be posted regularly to the Church of God Facebook and Twitter sites. Follow the Church of God on Twitter at COGHQ and use the hashtag #GA2012 to follow and post tweets.

Live streaming of the sessions of the General Council will begin Tuesday morning through the final session on Friday afternoon. In addition, all three evening services will be streamed, which will include the Friday night commissioning of and address by the newly-elected General Overseer. Current overseer Dr. Raymond Culpepper is not eligible for reelection due to tenure limitations.

To access the live streaming, visit the Church of God website.

Finally, it is announced that the Church of God unveils a new mobile app for download to tablets, such as iPad, and other mobile devices. The app will contain the most popular elements of the Church of God website, including the church directory, and will feature the GA2012 link as well. Visit www.churchofgod.org/mobileapp.
