“My Hope” With Billy Graham Campaign Presented to Leaders

Coordinators and directors from Church of God USA Missions, Men’s and Women’s Discipleship, Music Ministries, Pathway Press, and the General Overseer’s Office, met on Thursday, January 17, 2013 to discuss the implementation of the MY HOPE WITH BILLY GRAHAM outreach project slated for November 2013.

Assistant General Overseer Dr. Wallace J. Sibley, who is also Executive Director of World Evangelization/USA Missions, moderated the meeting. Dr. James E. Cossey, USA Missions Administrative Coordinator, presented an overview of the MY HOPE campaign. The meeting’s objective was to forge a partnership between USA Missions and other ministry entities that are directly involved in evangelism or discipleship development.

In attendance at the meeting in addition to Sibley and Cossey, were David Ray, Administrative Liaison to the General Overseer; Leonard Albert, Personal Evangelism; Kenneth Hill, Black Ministries; Robert Moore, Ministry to the Military; Carlos Moran, Hispanic Ministries; Larry Horrell, Music and Discipleship Resources; David Gosnell, Men’s Discipleship; Lorna Gosnell, Women’s Discipleship; Raymond Hodge, Administrative Assistant/Marketing Director for Pathway Press, and Lance Colkmire, Managing Editor of Church of God Publications/Editor of the Church of God EVANGEL.

The MY HOPE campaign will be a nationwide multidenominational evangelistic outreach of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) during the week of November 7, 2013, the date of Billy Graham’s 95th birthday. The campaign is local church driven, and combines the best of crusade, personal, and lifestyle evangelism. Each sponsoring pastor trains “Matthews” in the congregation to do as Matthew in Scripture, and invite people into their homes for a presentation of the Gospel. Pastoral training venues are being conducted across the nation, and training is available online or by DVD. Complete information can be secured at www.myhopewithbillygraham.org. There is also a link to MY HOPE on the USA Missions website at www.usamissions.com. Extensive support, promotional, and follow-up materials are provided to each local church by BGEA without charge (a freewill offering is requested).

The MY HOPE campaign has been endorsed by the General Overseer and the International Executive Committee to be administered to the Church of God via USA Missions (formerly called Evangelism and Home Missions). The USA Missions Board has approved the campaign as a Strategic Partner for the purpose of assisting local churches in the evangelization of their communities.
