Church Leader, Organ Donor to Share Testimony on Moody
Two Church of God men who experienced a kidney transplant five years ago will have a follow-up radio interview on the Chris Fabry Show at 3:00 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, October 28, on Moody Radio.
Fabry first interviewed the two when they were traveling to the hospital for the operation in 2009.
Phil Hoover, the donor, in Chicago, and Bill George, the recipient, in Cleveland, Tennessee, will talk with Fabry about the impact the transplant has made. George, who worked in Church of God World Missions, experienced kidney failure while participating in a conference in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2007. Upon his emergency return home, he went into the hospital immediately and began dialysis. He had been a dialysis patient for two years when Hoover heard about his need for the transplant and took the initiative that resulted in the donation of his kidney.
Hoover learned of the situation when he read a Facebook post. He had been a student of Dr. George at Lee College (now University). He said he was inspired to pray that God would provide a donor, and while praying he sensed the Lord telling him that he should do it.
The show will air over Moody stations throughout the nation and will permit call-in responses from listeners.
