Christ’s Birthday Offering Continues to Reach Greater Heights

For many years, the annual Christ’s Birthday Offering has been received from individuals and churches across the United States to fund disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. While the plain of tragedy widens, so does the conscientiousness of those who contribute to the cause.

Each year the donation is matched by the year itself … 2015; hence, $20.15. What seems as a small amount by today’s economic standards, is the life-support of many disasters affecting Church of God members around the world. It offers a lot of hope and makes THE difference.
This past year the world experienced:

• 14 earthquakes of over 7.0 on the Richter scale, leaving over 9,300 dead.
• Countless floods in 15 states of India alone have decimated both landscapes and lives, leaving children homeless and orphaned.
• Now, hundreds of thousands are escaping the murderous regime of ISIS, fleeing to countries in Europe for safety and shelter.

In all of these situations, Church of God World Missions is at the scene with food, water, shelter, and most important … HOPE! Listed below are just a few of the disbursements of this ever-needful fund:

– The Ebola outbreak left many orphans in Liberia.
– Vessels of Mercy Clinic in Honduras serves the people of Roatan with affordable emergency care.
– Costs to feed and adequately clothe orphans requires the vast majority of income. Repairs at orphanages are necessary and usually have a steep price tag.

As one can tell, the monies contributed go to a plethora of circumstances … medical assistance, funeral expenses, Ebola relief, stateside relief, and most recent the Ukraine crisis. No one person or country is immune to disaster and crisis, but it is the concern of brothers and sisters around the world who step up to the plate and make it less insurmountable.

The world is depending on us! Please send your donation right now to Church of God World Missions, and designate Project Number 020-0803. For more information, visit www.cogwm.org.
