Ethiopian Bible School Celebrates Graduation

A graduation celebration was held recently at the Sidama Ministry Center of the Harvest Church of God near Hawassa in southern Ethiopia, Africa. Directing the occasion were National Overseer Hiruy Tsige and lead teacher Altaseb Gudeta.

The Sidama Bible School has been training pastors and evangelists from all over the southern area for the last 15 years. This last class of graduates, 32 men, has been in training for two years. It is expected the graduates will enhance the ministries of the local churches in their respective districts. Many of them are already involved in ministry at different levels.

The large group of graduates and their spouses received a prayer for God’s blessing to rest upon them and their families as they venture into full-time ministry.

Ethiopia has a number of training centers for the local church ministers and the members at large. The main training center is in Addis Ababa, which they hope will be a full-fledged accredited Bible College after their National Ministry Center (NMC) building is completed in 2017.

Tsige has served as national overseer since 1994. Ethiopia has 41,718 Church of God members and 143 churches.
