Church of God Pastor Opens Chicago City Council with Prayer

Last week, Chris Wallace, Pastor of the Victory Worship Center Church of God in Chicago, Illinois, opened the Chicago session of city council with prayer.

Surrounded by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the city council members, Pastor Wallace prayed, “There is a story that comes to mind, it is that of David and Goliath. David faced something that seemed insurmountable yet his heart said I will take this victory today not that I would become famous or be glorified, but so that all of Israel would know there is still a God in heaven! I want to challenge you to greatness that all would know there is still a God in Chicago…..”

“Keep your hand upon this city,” Wallace continued. “Give these men and women your wisdom as they lead this city and act in service to their community. Grant them your safety and lead them that they may lead us well. We give you all the praise and Glory because we know the best is yet to come for this city, we thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

In a message from Church of God Great Lakes Administrative Bishop Ronald K. Martin, he stated, “Pastor Wallace and the Victory Worship Center congregation are reaching city of Chicago with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making an impact on those who lead Chicago, the third largest city in America!”
