A Testimony of the Effectiveness of Outreach Programs
Her name is Viviana, a single mom living in the Ecuadorian community of Quito. For several years, her two little girls have participated in the education and nutrition programs that are offered to more than 120 children in the area by Church of God Missionaries Bobby and Tamitha Lynch. Bobby also teaches at SEMISUD, the Church of God South American Theological Seminary.
Sharing the love of God with Viviana and her children in tangible and visible ways helped provide the opportunity for Viviana to encounter Jesus. The hope of the Gospel transformed her life and infused her with hope. Scripture says … “Therefore if any man (woman) be in Christ, he (she) is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Viviana’s new story continues to be written as she was recently baptized in water. She also dedicated her two little girls a few weeks ago at the Living Waters Ministry Center in Quito.
The following are Viviana’s words of affirmation to her newfound relationship with Jesus Christ:
“I don’t drink anymore; I don’t leave my little girls alone on Saturday night anymore to go dancing in the clubs. Mom, Dad, I know I haven’t been the best daughter, but with the help of God, I want to set a good example for my daughters and show you I have changed, and that I want to raise my daughters in the ways of the Lord. Thank you, Mommy, Poppy, for always being there for me when it wasn’t easy. Thank you to all my family who have come to share this day with me. Thank you to all my church for helping me make this all possible. God bless you all.”
