SL2C Update: Moscow

Church of God World Missions leaders have been releasing progress reports for the Send the Light to the Cities (SL2C) Project, an initiative to reach 10 major cities around the world with the people and resources God gives. World Missions recently released a report on the progress taking place in the SL2C city of Moscow, Russia:

At one point, Moscow seemed to be where the Send the Light to the Cities project would have to wait. This was due to the Russian government’s proclamation limiting religious evangelism to buildings recognized as places of worship.

Regional Superintendent Tom Rosson has indicated although there is a closing of the window for religious freedom, still God is moving among people. The School in Moscow has more students this year and is being recognized for excellence.

Send the Light 2 the Cities is working with the largest Church of God located in Orel, Russia. This church has been under construction and is now in the last stages. It is a large church with transportation close by. It already hosts training seminars. There are churches in Moscow, but most are renting and may not be in position to be the center of church planting as the Orel church.

Please pray for the Holy Spirit to work as He wills in the lives of the members and ministers of the Church of God in Moscow. The compelling nature of the Holy Spirit will convince and convict sinners of their need for a Savior.
