Church of God World Missions Summarizes Successful 2018
Church of God World Missions recently reported the highlights of the year 2018.
In a recent report on cogwm.org, five areas were emphasized:
Disaster Relief – World Missions aided in disaster relief for hurricanes, floods, wild fires, and other natural disasters around the world.
New Country – In June, a church was started in the nation of Andorra. This marked the 185th country of the world in which the Church of God has a presence.
General Assembly – World Missions enjoyed a time of connecting with the church body from all parts of the world in Orlando, Florida July 28-August 3, 2018. Missions events included Alma’s Closet, the World Missions banquet, pre-Assembly conference, and the World Missions service which featured the Parade of Nations.
Three New Cities – Edinburgh, Scotland, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Tokyo, Japan were announced at the General Assembly as the three new cities which World Missions has added to the ‘Send the Light to the Cities” project.
Children’s Project Launched – “This Little Light of Mine” was launched in 2018, allowing children to help children. The project provides children, children’s pastors, parents and youth workers with resources and opportunities to “show kids that other kids their age around the word are in need.” The project was created from the heart of Judy Griffis.
“We are thankful for all God accomplished through the faithful prayers and support of World Missions donors,” stated Director David Griffis. “We look forward to even greater things in 2019.”
