Lee University’s Online Learning Program Ranks in Top 50
Cleveland, TN–Lee University saw its placement rise once again in the popular U.S. News & World Report “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs” ranking.
This year Lee’s ranking rose 18 spots to a tie for #42 on the list, which, unlike its popular “Best Colleges” rankings, assesses only online programs and rates colleges and universities of all sizes and categories on the same list. Rankings are determined by a measurement of the university’s student engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and peer reputation.
“It is exciting to be ranked in the top 50 this year alongside so many larger, public universities like Arizona State, Ohio State, and Georgia,” said Dennis Purvis, director of enrollment services for Lee University Online. “U.S. News is the gold standard of college rankings. To join that list as a private, Christian school and be the top-ranked school in Tennessee is something we can all be proud of. It is just further proof that we are building our online program with an intentional, student-focused approach.”
Other universities in Tennessee were also ranked in “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs,” such as University of Memphis (#58), Carson-Newman University (#259), East Tennessee State University (#264 tie), and University of Tennessee at Martin (#200). Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Florida was ranked #1.
“Lee has an outstanding curriculum and faculty, both on campus and online, and we are excited that others are recognizing this for our online programs, too,” said Dr. Joshua Black, executive director of Lee Online.
Lee University Online offers a flexible approach toward an affordable, accessible, and achievable degree program. Online degree programs include the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Bible and Theology, Business Administration, Christian Studies, Criminal Justice, Ministry Leadership, and Liberal Studies (degree completion). Additionally, the school offers online graduate programs in Business Administration (MBA), Marriage and Family Studies, Ministry Studies, and Music Education.
“Our online programs enable students around the world to have the ‘Lee experience’ in their own setting, regardless of location,” said Black. “Working men and women can complete their undergraduate degree or earn their graduate degree from Lee while still living their lives in their home communities.”
U.S. News has been ranking colleges for 35 years and continues to be a closely watched college ranking. U.S. News evaluated more than 1,000 online programs to develop rankings for online bachelor’s degrees as well as various categories of online graduate degree programs.
