October Starts Series of Church Planters Meetings
Mitchell Maloney, Director of the Office of Church of God Church Planting, has announced a series of Church Planters Interest Meetings and training intensives, the first of which was held last weekend.
On Saturday, October 5, the first gathering was held at the Princeton Pike Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio where men and women who are considering planting a life-giving church came together. According to Maloney, the meeting was the first conducted for:
• Church planting pastors and spouses
• Potential launch team members.
• Pastors who are interested in Mother / Daughter church planting
• State / Regional Task Force members
• District Overseers who may be interested in planting a church as a district
The meetings will answer questions such as:
• Why should we plant new churches?
• Who can plant a life-giving church?
• How can I build a launch team?
• What kind of church planting model should I consider?
• How important is personal evangelism?
• Tips on fund raising
“In the past three years, the Church of God has planted almost 700 churches in North America,” Maloney said. “You can be a part of the beginning stages of a fresh church planting movement!”
Church Planters Interest Meetings are held on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. and lunch is served. While registration is required, there is no fee. Prospective delegates are encouraged to pick among the locations that are most convenient for them. Remaining dates and locations are as follows:
October 19, 2019, Church of God State Office, Lawrenceville, Georgia; November 9, 2019, Christian Cathedral Church, Patten University, Oakland, California; February 22, 2020, Church of God Campground, Weatherford, Texas.
The Office of Church of God Church Planting is also conducting regional Church Planter Launch Intensives, two-day training events where experienced church planting coaches will lead discussions on key steps and strategies for planting life-giving churches.
Church Planter Launch Intensives involve a registration fee of $95 per person or $145 per couple. The fee includes dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday.
