Participants Arrive for Journey of Pentecost Tour
Tel Aviv, Israel–Nearly 80 tour participants are arriving in Israel for an eight-day excursion into the Holy Land, the Journey of Pentecost Tour.
General Overseer Tim Hill and his wife, Paula, are hosting the group, which has been anticipating the tour of the land of the Bible since last summer. Participants include ministry leaders, laypersons, and spouses.
Joining the Hills are other members of the Church of God Executive Committee including J. David and Joyce Stephens, David and Fernanda Ramirez, and John and Debbie Childers.
Upon landing in Tel Aviv late Monday, the tour will immediately travel north for the first of three nights in the area of the Sea of Galilee.
The tour begins in earnest tomorrow (March 3) with a boat excursion across the Sea to the ancient city of Capernaum, the area where Jesus began his ministry. The Mount of Beatitudes follows, with a view of the site where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
The group will also visit the archaeological site of Magdala. Members of the Executive will conduct short devotionals at each of the sites. Music will be led during the week by Jonathan Sawyer and vocalists Angie Primm and Theresa Arwood.
In the late afternoon, the tour is scheduled to visit the Voice of Hope radio studio where Tim Hill and members of the Executive Committee will participate in a live broadcast. Following, the group will experience a short worship service under a pavilion at the studio before retiring to the Ramot Hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
During the week, the group will spend three days in the Galilee, followed by four days of experiencing sites in Jerusalem. The tour concludes on March 10.
