General Overseer Launches Dialogue Series
On Saturday, June 13, 2020, Church of God General Overseer Dr. Timothy M. Hill began a series of dialogues with state leaders entitled, “Kingdom Conversations with Dr. Hill.”
Hill characterized the conversations as “open dialogue with Administrative Bishops of African descent and the constituents and credentialed ministers from their respective regions.” Hill stated, “It is a crucial time in our nation as well as the Church of God and we must respond with Great Commission purposes and motivations that foster healing and unity among all people.”
The series started with a Zoom call to the state of New Jersey and Administrative Bishop Raymond Burch.
With Hill speaking from the Communications Center at the International Offices, three locations were linked from Trenton, Freehold, and Patterson, New Jersey. From these locations, participants were able to speak and share their heart with the General Overseer.
Subsequent calls have been scheduled for this month with the state of New York (Steve Smith) on Monday, June 15, Northern New England(Ken Hill) on Sunday, June 28, and an in-person gathering in Orlando at the Rosen Center Hotel with the leadership of Cocoa, Florida (Anthony Pelt) on Monday June 29.
“In a pre-COVID-19 world we would be having these meetings face-to-face,” Hill stated. “So far Florida is the only state of the three to open enough to allow travel and a group meeting. While the in-person fellowship is valuable, the conversation that I hope comes out of these meetings will be the most important element. I have high hopes that these conversations will be highly productive toward advancing the leadership paradigm within the Church of God.”
