Fall 2020 Engage Journal Released
The Fall 2020 issue of Church of God Engage has been released and available digitally at www.cogengage.org.
The journal for ministers, church and lay leaders, offers a variety of articles for those working in ministry on a regular basis. Engage offers practical ministry ideas and resources, as well as items for the local church to implement. In addition, advertisements throughout the publication are provided by the departments and ministries of the Church of God.
This issue is the first since last January due to the onset of COVID-19. In this issue, special features include articles that focus on praying for your pastor, and how God is “pruning us” in this pandemic. There is a feature on the 34 years of leadership of Lee University by President Dr. Paul Conn, who transitioned into the role of chancellor on August 1, 2020.
General Overseer Tim Hill continues the series, “Let’s Talk About It,” where he addresses Leading in Crisis. The Doctrine and Polity papers, a series of articles that address some of the Church of God’s core values, continues in this issue with a scriptural analysis on the Church and Civil Government, written by Dr. Daniel Tomberlin with the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.
Recurring sections include Church of God Legal Counsel Dennis Watkins who addresses the relevant topic of when and where to wear masks, while President and CEO of the Benefits Board Art Rhodes talks about church finances in a post-pandemic world.
Published three times a year, Engage is emailed directly to ministers, pastors, staff and leaders in the Church of God. It is then made available to anyone simply through logging into the website www.cogengage.org. On the site, the publication may be viewed in a convenient PDF format. There are also archived copies of the publication going back several years.
