Spring/Summer Engage Journal Now Live
The Spring/Summer 2021 issue of Church of God Engage has been released and is available digitally at cogengage.org.
The journal for ministers, church and lay leaders, offers a variety of articles for those working or volunteering in church ministry. Engage includes practical ministry ideas, recommendations, and resources, as well as items for the local church to implement. In addition, Engage is a forum to showcase advertisements from the departments and ministries of the Church of God and include live links to websites of upcoming events, ministry offerings, and other resources.
Featured article titles this issue include “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” “Why I Enjoy Sunday Church Visits,” and “Get ready for the Biggest Paradigm Shift Ever.”
General Overseer Tim Hill continues the series, “Let’s Talk About It,” where he “talks about” the day the Lord told him, “Shut It Down; I Want You Back!” The Doctrine and Polity papers, a series of articles that addresses the Church of God’s core values and deals with cultural issues, continues in this issue with a biblical approach to the question of Christians and cremation. The subject is tackled by Dr. Jerald Daffe, a faculty member at Lee University.
Recurring sections include a column penned by Church of God Legal Counsel Dennis Watkins who has a “conversation” about the COVID-19 vaccine. As he head into the 2021-2022 tax season, President and CEO of the Benefits Board Art Rhodes talks about the timely topic of “getting your tax status right.”
Published three times a year, Engage is emailed directly to ministers, pastors, staff and leaders in the Church of God. It is then made available to anyone through logging onto the website cogengage.org. On the site, the publication may be viewed in a convenient PDF format. There are also archived copies of the publication going back several years.
