PTS Minister’s Week Set for Oct. 5-7
Cleveland, TN–The annual Minister’s Week at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary will take place October 5-7, 2021. PTS President Dr. Michael Baker announced that this year the seminary will offer three simultaneous conferences during Minister’s Week, which will be both present on campus and online.
The Science for the Seminary Conference is being coordinated by Dr. David S. Han, vice president for academics at PTS. Titled “Flourishing Humanity: Exploring and Re-imagining the Image of God,” it will bring together world renown theologians and scientists to discuss the intersection of theology, science, and Christian ministry. Plenary speakers include: Dr. Don E. Saliers, Distinguished Professor of Theology and Worship at the Emory University Candler School of Theology; Dr. Levi Morran, Associate Professor of Biology at Emory University; Dr. Nakia Gordon, Associate Professor and Assistant Chair Department of Psychology at Marquette University; Dr. Paul Metzger, Professor of Christian Theology and Theology of Culture at Multnomah University; Dr. Cheryl Johns, Senior Professor of Discipleship and Christian Formation at Pentecostal Theological Seminary; and Dr. Amos Yong, Professor of Theology and Mission at Fuller Seminary.
PTS Thrive is presenting “Flourishing Pastors: Strengthening Resilience in Difficult Times.” This conference will focus on issues significant to early career pastors and pastors engaged in significant conflict. Plenary speakers include Dr. Michael Reynolds, Director of Ministerial Development for the Church of God; Dr. Mark Williams, senior pastor at North Cleveland Church of God; Rev. Jamie Massey, executive director of City of Lights Dream Center in Sumiton, Alabama; and Dr. David Han, vice president for academics at PTS. The PTS Thrive Conference is being coordinated by Dr. Dan Tomberlin.
The Center for Latino Studies Summit plenary speakers include Rev. Eliezer Bonilla
Senior Pastor at Abundant Life Church of God in San Antonio, Texas; and Dr. Agustina Luvis Núñez, Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico. The CLS Summit is coordinated by Dr. Wilmer Estrada-Carasquillo.
