Church of God World Missions Issues ‘365 Challenge’

During last month’s International General Assembly in San Antonio, Texas, Church of God World Missions unveiled “The 365 Challenge,” proclaiming it as a “response to the last, the least, and the lost of humanity.”

“To date the world’s total population is more than 7 billion people,” stated M. Thomas Propes, the newly elected Director of Church of God World Missions (COGWM). “Nearly half of those have never heard the name of Jesus and most of these people reside in the 10/40 window.”

Through the 365 Challenge, COGWM will advance the Kingdom of God by focusing on three key elements – the physical, material, and spiritual needs of humanity. Propes went on to explain the Challenge as, “to meet physical needs such as medical care, provide nutritious food and clean water. We will meet material needs such as shelter, clothing and shoes. Then we will meet spiritual needs such as the salvation story, discipling those we win and global church planting.”

In a video recorded at the General Assembly, Propes called on everyone to accept the challenge through two calls to action.

“First, pray. Pray for our efforts among the last, the least and the lost. Second, give. As you partner with Church of God World Missions, please remember 100% of your gift reaches the mission field.”

Propes went on to explain an option for next generations to accept the challenge as they join a local “365 Kids Club.” Lessons are available as an addition to current curriculum.

“We believe it will open their hearts to missions and reveal to them God’s heart for the world,” Propes said.

The World Missions website at cogwm.org was completely re-vamped and released during the Assembly with information on the 365 Challenge and ways to connect and get involved. To give, please visit cogwm.org and refer to Project #102-0365.
