Pathway Press Launches ‘KidMin Pathway’
Cleveland, TN—-Pathway Press has launched a new ministry and resource designed for children’s ministers.
According to David Ray, director of Church of God Publications, KidMin Pathway has been created to, “impact emerging generations through godly, innovative, and emboldened leaders.”
The new initiative is directed by Pastor Lynn M. Swank, who has 34 years experience as a family and children’s pastor. KidMin Pathway is designed to train children’s and family ministry leaders for excellence.
Four levels of mentorship are the basis for the ministry to create pathways of practical training for both beginning and seasoned leaders. The four levels include:
1. Help Line: a free resource for ideas and problem-solving;
2. KidMin Check-up: vital to kick-starting or keeping ministry running smoothly, delving into the three core components of children’s ministry: message/lesson prep, classroom management, and effective team-building;
3. Yearlong Course: KidMin Pathway tackles a different topic each month through workshops and personal mentoring conversations. A plan of action is developed targeting the specific strengths and weaknesses of each leader, and a growth system is set in place for the local church. Topics during the course include:
• Engaging young families
• Creative teaching methods
• Budget-friendly big events
• Administrative tips for follow-up and organization.
4. Full Mentorship: this level includes a church mentor visit along with the yearlong course. KidMin creates and promotes an exciting family event and schedules a teacher training to coincide with the mentor visits to the local church.
“The mission of KidMin Pathway is to encourage, equip, and energize those who pour into souls of children week after week,” Swank said. “Let’s journey together on the pathway to children’s ministry excellence!”
