Seventh Annual ‘Agree’ Prayer Event Set for January 9-10
Cleveland, TN–In 2017, Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill launched the “Agree” prayer event, a campus-wide convocation to welcome the new year in prayer. Agree ’23 will be the seventh consecutive year for the event and will take place on the Church of God International Offices campus on January 9 and 10, 2023.
Agree has become a much anticipated gathering of church leaders, led by Bishop Hill.
A diverse array of speakers, moderators, and musical guests will headline the two-day event, which begins Monday night at 7:00 pm EST.
As a specific prayer focus, themes have been assigned for each night. On Monday, prayers will be directed primarily toward World Missions, evangelism, and revival. On Tuesday, church leaders and guests will set the prayer compass on the ministries of benevolence, youth, and the next generation.
Serving as event host on Monday will be Rev. Max Reyes, director of youth and discipleship for the Church of God in the state of Ohio. Rev. Jacqueline Smith, national evangelist for the Church of God, will host on Tuesday. They will be joined by Bishop Hill and other church leaders throughout the two evenings, including executive committee members Raymond Culpepper, Tony Stewart, David Ramirez, and Gary Lewis.
Featured speakers for Agree ‘23 will be two pastoral couples. Joel and Theresa Arwood serve as pastors at Purpose Church in Sevierville, Tennessee, while Barry and Kim Clardy, until this past General Assembly, pastored the Princeton Pike Church in Hamilton, Ohio. Barry Clardy now serves as administrative bishop for the state of Indiana.
Musical guests during Agree ’23 will be Jonathan Sawyer, praise and worship leader at the North Cleveland Church of God. He will be joined on Tuesday by Todd Tilghman, winner of NBC’s “The Voice” competition in the show’s 18th season in 2020. He has served as pastor of the Cornerstone Church since 2011, a Church of God congregation in Meridien, Mississippi.
A special bonus of Agree will come on Wednesday morning, January 11, as the regularly scheduled international Offices chapel service will be hosted by Rev. Carlos and Percy Moran with a keynote message from Dr. Michael Reynolds, who serves as director of Ministerial Development for the Church of God. Jonathan Sawyer and Todd Tilghman will bring praise and worship. Chapel will begin at 10:30 am EST.
All Agree ’23 services and the Wednesday morning chapel will be streamed on the Church of God social channels, including facebook.com/COGHQ and youtube.com/user/coghqvideos.
