Agree ’24 Begins Thursday
Cleveland, TN—For the eighth year in a row, General Overseer Tim Hill will be hosting Agree, a special prayer emphasis originating from the Church of God International Offices.
Launching Agree was one of the first priorities of Hill’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of focusing on prayer at the start of a new year. Agree ’17 began the annual tradition, which has taken place on the campus of the International Offices and is billed as a campus-wide prayer revival.
The first service of Agree ‘24 to be broadcast will be on Thursday, January 11 beginning at 7:00 pm EST and available via livestream. Special musical guests throughout the service will be the Lee University Campus Choir and Power Unlimited, both led by Director Rhea Marshall. General Overseer Hill will lead several prayer emphases and responses during the broadcast. He will be joined by members of the Executive Committee and others.
Thursday’s program will be highlighted by four sermons delivered live from the stage of the David C. Blair Center at the International Offices. The speakers will be introduced by Tim Hill and past Church of God general overseers, who will also offer a short charge to the Agree audience.
Introducing Lorna Burch will be Dr. Raymond Culpepper (general overseer 2008-2012). Burch will speak on the topic of “Pray Without Ceasing.” Adam Fulgham will follow addressing the topic of “Pentecost Is Available Today.” He will be introduced by General Overseer G. Dennis McGuire (2002-2006), followed by two-time General Overseer R. Lamar Vest (1990-1994; 2000-2004) who will present speaker Brittany Parate. Her message will be entitled “A Solid Faith for the Crucial Times.” The final speaker for the evening will be Travis Gore, with a message of “A Church Prepared for His Coming.” He will be introduced by General Overseer Tim Hill (2016-2024).
Agree ’24 will conclude with a broadcast at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 12 and will spotlight Church of God evangelists. Special music throughout will be from Jonathan Sawyer and the praise team from North Cleveland Church of God, as well as Evangelist Daryl Petree. National Evangelist Jacqueline Smith will offer scripture and prayer and the keynote message will be delivered by Evangelist Michael Ball. Prior to Ball’s message, former General Overseer Mark Williams (2012-2016) will introduce him and deliver, “A Charge to Preach the Word.” Evangelist Rick Lairsey will lead “Prayer Around the Globe” and members of the Executive Committee will participate as well, led by Hill.
Both Agree ’24 services can be viewed by accessing the Church of God social media channels on Facebook and YouTube (@COGHQ). Agree ’24 will also kick off “21 Days of Prayer,” proclaimed by General Overseer Hill to the global church. The period will last from January 10-31, 2024.
