Pastor Appreciation Day Is April 28
Cleveland, TN—The Church of God will celebrate Pastor Appreciation Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Dr. O. Wayne Brewer, International Co-Director of Church of God Adult Discipleship, states “each year on the last Sunday of April, Church of God congregations all over North America and beyond, both honor and celebrate their local church pastor and his or her family. It is a heart-warming Sunday of celebration, gratitude, and encouraging appreciation given to the pastor.” The entire Church of God has traditionally respected and honored the men and women who serve the Body of Christ as faithful shepherds. “Though not an easy task by any measure,” Brewer continued, “the office/ministry of pastor is essential to the nurture, feeding, leadership, and discipling of the people of God.”
Brewer said the theme for this year’s commemoration for pastors is “Standing with your Pastor for Kingdom Advancement,” based on John 4:36: “And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and he that gathered fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.”
