Pastor Appreciation Day Set for April 27
Cleveland, TN—Sunday, April 27, 2025, has been designated as Pastor Appreciation Day in the Church of God.
International Church of God Adult Discipleship Co-Director Dr. O. Wayne Brewer recently announced the availability of resources for this revered annual event.
“Each year on the last Sunday of April, Church of God congregations all over North America and beyond, both honor and celebrate their local church pastor and his or her family,” Brewer stated. “It is an exciting Sunday of celebration, gratitude, and encouraging appreciation given to the pastor.” Brewer went on to say that the Church of God has traditionally respected and honored the God-called men and women who serve the Body of Christ as faithful pastors. “Though not an easy task by any measure, the office/ministry of pastor is essential to the nurture, care, feeding, and discipleship of the people of God,” he said.
The theme this year is “Overwhelming Love,” based on 1 Thessalonians 5:1-13 which states “recognize those…over you in the Lord…esteem them very highly in love…” Church of God Adult Discipleship has everything local churches or Pastor Appreciation Day committees need, including full color posters, bulletin covers (with responsive reading), themed bulletin inserts, love gift envelopes, prayer cards, encouragement cards, and even a complete Pastor Appreciation Book of Ideas.
