Pentecost Sunday Designated ‘Evangelism Sunday’

Cleveland, TN—The Church of God International Executive Committee, along with the Department of Ministry of Evangelism, has designated Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, as “Evangelism Sunday” in the Church of God for the second consecutive year. A highlight of the day will be a special offering for the Ministry of Evangelism.

In a recent request, churches across North America are being asked to pray for and partner with Evangelism in the effort. According to Director Dr. Sean O’Neal, prayers and financial support will make a significant difference as the church continues to engage the denomination in personal evangelism, church planting, church health and revitalization.

“The Day of Pentecost was the time God chose to endue with power His followers to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth,” O’Neal stated. “That same power abides in us today, with the same command of Matthew 28:19.”

The Ministry of Evangelism has been commissioned to lead the way in this endeavor by joining others across the United States and Canada in giving your “best gift.” The investment will help win souls, plant churches, and restore health to churches and pastors. For those who gave last year and will support this year, the financial support is sincerely appreciated.

A special video with Church of God General Overseer Gary Lewis and Director O’Neal is available for viewing here. Churches are encouraged to show the video which includes a QR code for scanning to give. Offerings from individuals or congregations can be mailed to Church of God Ministry of Evangelism, P.O. Box 2430, Cleveland, TN 37320. Please designate checks for the Pentecost Sunday Offering. In addition, giving can be electronically by clicking here.

“Thank you for your involvement in the Great Commission and in our efforts to ‘take the gospel to everyone!’ O’neal concluded. “Your participation is making a difference, and we are so grateful!”
