For many years, clothing has been taken to the General Assembly to be given to the wives of missionaries. Missionary Lorraine Alton and Sarah Moree, wife of former administrative assistant Chris Moree, first began taking clothes and giving them out of their hotel rooms. These ladies and others, such as Alma Kelley and Waneda Brownlow, would meet prior to the General Assembly and wash, iron and repair donated clothing.

Italy Church Joins the Church of God

Recently, Calvary Victory International Ministries of Cividino-Bergamo, Italy joined the International Church of God. National Overseer of Italy, Bishop Domenico Barra, Missionary Dennis Tanner, Bishop Edwin Amoah of Ebenezer Gospel Ministries in Rotterdam, Holland and Pastor Stephen Yaw from Amsterdam, Holland, were present at the ceremony.

The 72nd Church of God International General Assembly will convene August 4-9, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas. World Missions delegates will gather the evening of August 2 for the start of the pre-assembly conference for missionaries. The theme for the evening is “Running the Race…Together” with guest speaker Reverend James O. Davis from Florida.
