A prominent evangelical Christian leader says a “reverse religious test” is being applied to Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee because he believes his Christian faith should impact the way he lives. Tony Perkins says the attempt by elite secularists in the media to subject the surging GOP candidate to that test may not achieve its desired objective.

Yesterday, the U.S. House passed a resolution recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith by a vote of 372 to 9. Nine members voted against the resolution, ten refused to support it by voting “present,” and 40 others members did not vote.

Christmas is a very special time for Soldiers in harm’s way. Even though on Christmas Day it will be “duty as usual,” chaplains and soldiers will take time to gather for Christmas carols, candlelight services and other special holiday worship events.

Rap music, hip-hop dancers and a rainbow of strobe lights set the atmosphere for The Basement, an outreach that draws thousands of youth to Cathedral of the Cross in Birmingham, Ala., every Tuesday night.
