Global Outreach Day’s GO 2020 mobilized over 57 million Christians worldwide to reach 277 million with the Gospel. Despite social distancing due to COVID-19, Christians shared the Gospel digitally, by phone, text, and through food and mask distributions, with Bibles and tracts, as well as personal evangelism.

This has been the most spiritually intense season I’ve ever lived through. We’ve only reached the midpoint of this year, yet many of us are ready for 2020 to be over. First there was the coronavirus lockdown in March, then George Floyd was killed in Minnesota in May—and riots erupted amid peaceful protests. Now, medical experts say a second surge of the virus is heading our way, just in time for the presidential election.
Put on your seat belts, my friends. I don’t expect the second half of this year to be any easier.

In 2005, a federal court in Harrisburg, PA ruled “creationism is not a science.” The 139-page decision had the effect of removing the teaching of creationism from public schools in the Dover, PA school district. It was one of several cases that would be used to remove the teaching of creationism from all public schools in the USA. As a result, evolution is taught in our public schools as scientific fact.

Early in 2018, General Overseer Tim Hill committed that the Church of God would become an ecumenical partner with one of the largest global outreach efforts ever with the goal of churches around the world joining together to share their faith with the lost during the month of May 2020. His desire was for every Church of God member, in every church, from each of the 185 countries where the Church of God has a presence, to join this effort by sharing Christ during the month of May.
