Tulsa, Okla.— To celebrate 50 years of building Holy Spirit-empowered leaders, Oral Roberts University (ORU) forgave the debts of 10 students during its chapel service Wednesday. The University randomly selected the students through a drawing.

Last year was the worst year for persecuted Christians in contemporary history; beatings, rapes, kidnappings and killings all increased. Unfortunately, the situation appears to have worsened in 2015. Even Christian-majority countries are seeing increases in discrimination, exclusion and violence. The advancement of the Islamic State group and totalitarian governments like North Korea has contributed to the rise in persecution. To let persecuted Christians know they are not forgotten and to educate Americans about persecution, Open Doors USA is turning to technology to reach into homes and churches across the nation via the ministry’s second live webcast.

Homes of Promise, a recovery home organization using Christian principles in order to help restore lives, held its first HOP Leadership Community meeting recently in order to bring people together who are interested in coming alongside the non-profit.

We continue our study of some of the greatest Christian lives with one from more recent times, Leonard Ravenhill. I was privileged to get to know him in his final years, and I count him as one of the great Christians I have known.  

Making a heart connection with a child is a special part of parenting. One reason connecting emotionally is so important is that the heart is a person’s spiritual center; that’s why God chooses to live there. It’s also where parents can impact their kids spiritually. When you connect with your children on an emotional level, they’re more willing to listen to spiritual truth and less resistant to your leadership.
