Bishop Joel, Pastor Ylawnda Peebles and The City of Praise Family Ministries hosted their return home celebration service Sunday on August 30 at 4 p.m. at 8501 Jericho City Drive in Landover, Md. Established in 1986 by medical doctor Stoney Abercrombie of South Carolina, its goals are to encourage participation among Christian volunteers by providing medicines, supplies, and equipment to clinics in third-world countries, and to involve non-medical people in missions projects such as construction, Bible schools, evangelism, and the use of other skills. Christian medical professionals and other volunteers are able to experience missions first-hand.
