Cleveland, Tenn.–Members of the Church of God Canadian National Council are gathered this week for their annual meeting. This year, for the first time, their meeting is being held at the Church of God International Offices.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), the original faith based marriage enrichment program in the United States, announced today the national winners of the 2015 Longest Married Couple Project. They are Dale & Alice Rockey of Olathe, KS. The Rockeys have been married 81 years as of Dec. 29, 2014.

Christianity Today International is conducting a national survey on church staff compensation now until March 15, 2015. Survey findings will appear in the 2016-2017 Compensation Handbook for Church Staff.

During the North American Roundtable On Biblical Preaching in Melbourne, Florida last month, Mark Williams, general overseer of the Church of God, received the Global Synergize Award for 2015 from the Billion Soul Network.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Christians shouldn’t be punished for opposing same-sex marriage as they stand for traditional Christian beliefs.

After three years of having the most Bible-minded city in America, Tennessee has relinquished the title to Alabama. Birmingham moved up from the second spot in 2014 to the top spot in 2015 in American Bible Society’s annual ranking of America’s Most Bible-Minded Cities.

Recently, Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams visited a missionary project in an undisclosed Middle Eastern country. There are few nations in the region open to the Gospel, and although this nation is one that is less hostile, the law has harsh penalties for converting Muslims to another faith. While visiting, Dr. Williams spoke at an assembly of the churches in the desert country.
