On Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, the 2014 New England Conference for Truth will take place at Victory Christian Church in Middlefield, CT. The theme this year is “Jesus. Explained.” Registration is free. The Conference will interest spiritual seekers, Bible skeptics and Christian believers with a three-fold purpose. Seekers will discover why the Christian worldview withstands the test of “reason;” skeptics will be able to challenge the expert speakers in respectful dialogue during a Q&A session; believers will gain tools to substantiate their hope and faith.

In many countries it is difficult for the poor to find adequate medical care. Often they go untreated because of the scarcity of clinics and lack of medical equipment and supplies. With the increase in disease and injury prevalent in underdeveloped countries because of improper sanitation and lack of footwear, medical supplies become a life or death commodity. In response to this continuing need, Operation Compassion has sent a variety of medical supplies and equipment to eight countries.

If you were attending a church worship service in 1955 and then returned to the same church in 1975, the changes would be noticeable but not dramatic. Churches were slow to change over that 20-year period. If you, however, attended a church worship service in 2000 and then returned to that same church in 2010, there is a high likelihood you would see dramatic changes had taken place in only 10 years.

Cleveland, TN—The journey of a growing library with over 6,000 volumes continued this week, as the collection found a new home at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary’s Center for Latino Studies (CLS). The Seminary dedicated a new library and resource center at the CLS’ location at 740 Walker Street NE in Cleveland, Tennessee last week.

It has been 29 days since the radical Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram abducted more than 300 Nigerian schoolgirls and took them into hiding. The Nigerian government says 53 of the girls have escaped, but no one knows the whereabouts of the remaining 276, who were taking their exams when they were kidnapped. All we know is that Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, says he plans to sell the girls—for $12 each—into forced marriages. In a video he released this week, he also offered to swap 200 of the girls in exchange for prisoners.
