Oral Roberts University will be celebrating the inauguration of fourth president, Dr. William M. Wilson, in just under a month. The installation ceremony, scheduled for Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. in the ORU Mabee Center, will be the destination of guests from all over the globe.

As a Beatle, Paul McCartney wrote and sang “When I’m 64.” It appeared on what many believe is one of the greatest and most creative albums of all time, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Today Sir Paul is 71 years of age. Don’t wince, but rather identify with one of the closing lines from his song: “You’ll be older too!”

There are over 130 orphanages and children’s homes founded and/or supervised by Church of God missionaries. This week’s featured orphanages are the City of Hope in Sri Lanka, Safe House Provision de Amor in Colombia, Casa de Amor in El Salvador, Casa Shalom in Guatemala, and Hogar Esperanza in Honduras.

Christian filmmaker Russ Doughten Jr., best known for the 1970s’ end-times thrillers A Thief in the Night and A Distant Thunder, died Monday at his home in Carlisle, Iowa, after a lengthy cardiac-related illness. He was 86.

Over 500 people were baptized in one outdoor service at NorthRidge Church on Wednesday evening. Worship music, applause and celebration filled the amphitheater between the church and M-14 freeway.
