Everyone has experienced an imprisoned heart, held captive as a result of unbelief and unconfessed sin. Worse, our prison comes with cellmates: guilt, shame, and regret, etc. The Keeper of the keys, Jesus Christ, has already unlocked the door to the believer’s heart using the key of forgiveness by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). But sometimes we live as if we’re still imprisoned, struggling with fear, bitterness, anger—even hate. And those sins can slam shut the door of our hearts and strain our relationship with our heavenly Father and with others.

The College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas has just announced the lease of 21,000 square feet in the Indy Pyramids at College Park, Indianapolis. This lease space will be the new Indianapolis location of Crossroads Bible College. Crossroads Bible College and the College of Biblical Studies signed an agreement in early 2018 to pursue a merger of the two schools.

The Church of God in Kuwait, under the leadership of National Overseer Dr. Sushil Mathew, has more than doubled since 2014. A Bible School has been established, which now has over 25 students. Tim Hill was the first general overseer to visit and minister there.

I’m grateful for my friend Quentin Beard, who pastors one of the fastest growing churches in South Dakota—Sioux Falls First Assembly. Because Quentin wants his congregation to experience the Holy Spirit, he scheduled a special weekend of meetings so that people could be baptized in the Holy Spirit, get healing prayer and receive personal prophetic ministry.

With race and skin color often used to divide and categorize, a new release encourages children to rejoice in their God-designed differences. The Color of Us by Kathy Hardee (Redemption Press, April 2019) teaches that the color of skin is as inconsequential as the color of eyes or hair. It demonstrates diversity as God’s design and a reason to celebrate.

The paper, entitled, “Perils of the Hyper-Grace Movement,” was written by Dr. David Han, dean at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary and a member of the D&P Committee.
