Pastors and Church of God members are being hit with devastating flooding for the second time this year. Over 1,000 people have had to be rescued from their homes, including one of our Church of God pastors who had to be taken by boat after more than three feet of water rose in the parsonage. As of late Saturday, at least two people had lost their lives.
David Blair began his term as the Church of God’s International Youth and Discipleship Director on August 1, 2016, a lifelong journey that began with the release of a dream to be a jet pilot while on a table in a South Georgia emergency room.
On an annual basis, God’s Pit Crew, a nation-wide crisis response team, reaches out and blesses the Church of God Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. The organization often sends a team of women and men to renovate cottages, repair broken equipment, and enhance the campus buildings. Last year 19 women and men converged on the campus and transformed an empty facility into a place of respite.
Items debated by the General Council of the Church of God, as well as resolutions, were recently adopted at the 76th International General Assembly in Nashville, Tennessee.
Operation Compassion is partnering with Feed the Children to help the Church of God provide kids with the supplies they need to go back to school.
