Alexander to Present Azusa Lecture; Sibley to Receive Azusa Award
Dr. Estrelda Alexander will present the Tenth Annual Azusa Lecture, “From Azusa to Cleveland: Embracing Our Common Heritage” on Tuesday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the North Cleveland Church of God’s Dixon Chapel. Following Alexander’s presentation, the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center will honor Dr. Wallace Sibley with the Spirit of Azusa Award and a reception for his life-long leadership of the Pentecostal Movement. The lecture and reception honoring Sibley are free and open to the public.
Lee University Announces Plans for $7 Million Nursing Building
Lee University has announced plans for immediate construction of a major new building to house its School of Nursing. The 41,000-sq-ft building will lie along Parker Street on the southern edge of the Lee campus, according to Lee president Dr. Paul Conn.
Jail and Prison Ministry Conference Slated for October 22-23
Plans are being finalized for the 2015 biennial Jail and Prison Ministries Pastors and Workers Conference to be held at the Church of God International Offices chapel, October 22-23, 2015. The event is being coordinated by the Church of God USA Missions office.
Smoky Mountain Children’s Home Announces Donation
Dr. Walt Mauldin, executive director of the Church of God Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, made a recent announcement that the late William G. Squires has left a part of his estate to the Sevierville based children’s home.
