Cleveland, TN–Lee University recently received a Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.

Sometime shortly—perhaps within this month—the Supreme Court will hand down its ruling in the same-sex marriage case. Many longtime Court observers say it is likely they will conclude that same-sex civil marriage is a constitutional right. If so, it will mean increased liberty for gays and lesbians who wish to marry; it will also lead to increased pressures on religious organizations and individuals who believe that marriage is fundamentally between a man and a woman.

Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent agency with roots in the Church of God, has a worldwide scope of ministry and assistance to the underserved and non-served populations. While OC is proud of their accomplishments outside the United States, Operation Compassion fills a vital role assisting those same populations inside the United States. To this end, Operation Compassion sent more than 235 semi-trucks to rural and urban America.

Short-Term Missionary Joe Mercer recently returned from a trip to Panama, where he had been preaching and conducting his latest missions work. This trip consisted of visiting remote villages and a maximum security prison, spreading the Gospel in those places least likely to hear it any other way. Two of the villages were only accessible by boat.

Sevierville, TN– Businesses like Biblical Times Dinner Theater, located in Sevierville, Tennessee, have shown their support for the ministry of the Church of God Smoky Mountain Children’s Home by becoming actively involved in fund raising.

Church of God USA Missions has unveiled plans for a “We Love Nashville” evangelism/witnessing effort in July 2016 in conjunction with the 76th International General Assembly.
