As the number of deaths continues to climb from the Ebola virus in Liberia, World Missions is receiving reports of Church of God members and families who are now affected. Suspected and confirmed cases are increasing rapidly. Overseer Moses Hart says that one child who was connected with a Church of God orphanage orphanage has died. The girl came into contact with the virus during a visit with relatives in another area of Liberia.
The news media says scientists in the United States are racing to test experimental Ebola vaccines on humans in hopes of containing the disease in Africa. Desperation is now the driving force, and fear runs rampant
The Church of God has 50 churches in Liberia, with over 5,000 members, along with the Phebe Grey Orphanage where Max and Debbie Thompson and their daughter, Marcelly serve. World Missions is in constant contact with the leadership to keep you informed of the latest developments.
Please pray for the country of Liberia, its people, and our Church of God family.
