Cleveland, TN–On Thursday, October 27, Aaron Niequist, innovative leader of Willow Creek Community Church’s experimental worship service, The Practice, will be the special guest for the Robert E. Fisher chapel service at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS). Niequist will lead worship in chapel followed by time of discussion.

The Old Testament clearly shows that the rise and fall of Israel was determined by its spiritual condition. When the people worshipped God, and their leaders honored His laws, Israel prospered. When the people drifted into sin and idolatry, and Israel’s kings forgot the God who delivered them from slavery, the nation went into decline. Foreign armies eventually invaded.

The “Trump International Hotel,” Presidential Ballroom is to be the venue for the Inauguration Day event known to as the “Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast,’ on January 20, 2017. The event host, Rev. Merrie Turner stated that she chose the site because of it’s favorable proximity of the Old Postal Pavilion to both the White House and the U.S. Capitol along the famous parade route of Pennsylvania Avenue and because it is an American Landmark.

Members of the Mennonite Church USA and the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) recently began a multi-year ecumenical dialogue. The first meeting took place Oct. 16-18 at Lee University. Through the presentation and discussion of papers during the annual meetings, the team members will pursue mutual understanding of each other’s history and theology, seek greater common witness to the gospel, and consider concrete ways that they can share their sense of togetherness in the one body of Christ with other members of their churches.

I’m Not Ashamed, the inspirational true story of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine High School shootings, opened on 500 plus screens and quickly became the most popular new film in the country, earning a 93% rating from fans at the popular film website Rottentomatoes.com. The closest competitors in the popularity derby for other newcomers were The Handmaiden and Moonlight both scored by fans at 91%. I’m Not Ashamed opened strong at the box office as well, debuting at #6 in terms of per screen average of newly released films in the top 20.
